Student Tutoring and Learning Resources
1. Providing Students with diverse and comprehensive tutoring
Our students, besides their academic and musical studies, have to cope with interpersonal relationship, economic constrains and future working choices. Hence, every Wednesday morning, from 10-12, 12 teachers in our department spare their time to talk to our students and tutor them. Every teacher makes detailed record of the monthly tutoring program. For those students who fall behind in their studies and noticed on the learning alarm system by their teachers, we also provide learning consulting for the student. Also, under the master and disciple system, teachers of specified music studies also help their students when needed.
To provide our students with comprehensive tutoring and career plan consulting, every teacher have office hour available for the students to do one by one consulting. For students living in school dorms, our teachers as well as instructors provide help whenever students confronts different conditions and need help. For senior students who will soon graduate from school, we hold intern teaching activities to help them with their future work career. Moreover, to let students learn more about music related industry and planning, we hold several business delegation to broaden the horizons of our students.

To broaden the horizons of our students, we add new books and magazines every year. The rich data and audiovisual materials provide the best learning resources.
3. Provides chances to participate in various activities
Our students take part in various activities and competitions outside of school, and are highly rated for their extraordinary performances. In order to increase the experiences in performing and planning concerts, we hold several concerts each year and let students participate. Moreover, we also hold concerts during school anniversaries, in the main library, during graduation ceremonies. There are also nights of music, concerts of symphony, brass music and chorus performances. Each year, there will be a contest of concerto and related concerts.
We have many sister schools abroad, and each year we send 1-2 exchange students to different countries to experience different culture and learning style. We also invite famous musicians to give speeches and tutor in master classes. Besides, our students join the NTNU cheerleading competition and get championship 6 years in a row. Our freshman and sophomore students also volunteer in different concerts, exhibitions and services to develop various skills and enhance their future competitive edge.
Scholarship and Part-time jobs
Besides the scholarship provided by NTNU, scholarship for outstanding undergraduates, scholarship for disabled students, scholarship for students from low income families, scholarship for aboriginal students, scholarship for overseas Chinese students, scholarship for foreign students, we also provide Chang Lin-Te scholarship and “German Lieder scholarship”, which is founded by Professor Hsi Mu-Te.
Graduate students under scholarship have to help with teaching and researching works, internship and experiment classes, and departmental affairs. Undergraduates under scholarships have to help the administrative works, outdoor works, assistant works, public space administration and other works.
Autonomous student association
Our student association has sound work distributing systems and outstand members. Under the leadership of mentors, each year the association holds various activities, including member meeting, welcoming party for freshman, freshman camp, curriculum information meeting, sports events, singing competition, night of music, and NTNU music festival. We also publish our own magazine each year. Whenever our student confront difficulties at school or in their daily lives, the association conveys the situation to the department to offer instant aid for our students.
